The generosity of Pilot employees and their willingness to go casual at the office will benefit sick children, as two “Jeans Day” events at Pilot raised more than $700 for East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
"The people at Children's Hospital make the lives of area children better. They save lives," Ling said. "At Pilot, we're honored to support an organization like that."
Ling presented a $740 check to Children's Hospital at a live remote during the Star 102.1 Radiothon today.
Pilot employees who participate in "Jeans Day" donate $2 to a charitable organization in exchange for the right to wear blue jeans to work on Fridays. Ling suggested donating the money raised from the Feb. 11 and Feb. 18 "Jeans Day" events to Children's Hospital.
"It's great to be able to help children in need," said Kelvin Ling, Senior Supply Coordinator with Pilot. "And I sure didn't mind being comfortable while raising the money for them."
